Peering and Joining Policy

European Edge Internet Exchange (EE-IX)

1. Purpose

This policy defines the conditions, requirements, and guidelines for participation and peering at EE-IX (European Edge Internet Exchange).

EE-IX is a carrier-neutral, open Internet Exchange platform facilitating the exchange of Internet traffic between networks.

EE-IX is managed and operated by AIRBYTES COMMUNICATIONS Limited, a company incorporated in England and Wales.

EE-IX reserves the right to approve or reject applications at its sole discretion.

5. Peering Costs

The recurring costs of a Peer result from the booked network ports and any value-added services at EE-IX.

Peers are required to pay costs according to the agreed payment terms. Outstanding payments may result in suspension or termination of peering ports at the discretion of EE-IX.

6. Responsibilities & Guarantees

EE-IX provides a Layer-2 platform for exchanging network traffic. Each Peer is responsible for:

EE-IX is operated to achieve continuous and trouble-free service; however, unless contractually agreed otherwise, EE-IX provides services on a best-effort basis and does not provide a legal guarantee for specific service levels.

7. Suspension & Termination

EE-IX may suspend or terminate peering ports at any time for important reasons, including:

A Peer may terminate its participation at any time in accordance with agreed terms. A refund of peering costs is generally excluded.

Redundant route servers are available in the peering broadcast domain. Peers are encouraged to establish BGP sessions with the route servers and announce their prefixes to improve connectivity with other peers.

10. Private Network Interconnect (PNI)

Peers may book PNIs as value-added services for a private broadcast domain between two network ports at any EE-IX PoP under the following conditions:

Interested peers can receive onboarding assistance to connect to EE-IX. We can support you in selecting an optimal connection option and can introduce carriers and data centre operators where available.

12. Governing Law

This policy and all participation agreements are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
